Abuse & Misconduct Policies

Staff, Contractor, & Volunteer Screening

All prospective staff members, contractors, and volunteers who will be working a youth event must be certified with the National Center for SafeSport and pass a background check through USA Ultimate’s preferred service as well as any additional screenings and certifications required by our event partners–including but not limited to a Live Scan, a TB test, and/or proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

Sexual Abuse & Misconduct Prevention

All prospective staff members, contractors, and volunteers who will be working a youth event will be taught best practices for preventing sexual abuse and misconduct through their certification with the National Center for SafeSport.

Sexual Abuse & Misconduct Reporting

California Ultimate is dedicated to creating a safe environment for all athletes to play. To that end, we have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to bullying, harassment, hazing, emotional misconduct, physical misconduct, sexual misconduct, and sexual abuse.

If you experience, witness, or even have suspicion that any of the here-to-fore mentioned activities are occurring on your Ultimate team, in your Ultimate league, at an Ultimate tournament, or in an Ultimate organization in California, please contact our SafeSport administrator to file a report and discuss further actions:
